Drawing with the Pen

Smooth curves, sharp corners and precise paths, Illustrator-style.

1. Click and drag

   Press P. Click for corners, drag for curves. Click the first point to close the shape, Enter to finish an open path.

2. Control the curve

   Shift snaps to 45°. Alt-drag breaks a handle for a sharp turn. Click the last point again for a corner.

3. Edit paths

   With the Pen on a selected path: click a segment to add a point, a point to delete it, an end point to continue. Hold Ctrl to move points.

4. Shape Builder & Pathfinder

   Combine shapes with Shape Builder (K) or the Pathfinder buttons on the Move tool.
